Custody

My husband and i just got primary custody of his 3 children from a previous marriage. The mother sees the kids 4days a month (every other weekend) because of her fiancé and his children that is all the courts permitted. (Her fiancé abuses her{child's mother} and her fiancés child has raped my step daughter which is why the mother was only granted partial custody and her fiancé and his children aren't permitted around my stepchildren)  For a year she saw her kids 2 hours 4x a month willingly and we never had any issues but now since she had over nights on the weekends my step daughter(age 8) has been getting upset when they come home cause she misses her mom. So is there anything I can do to help her understand and not be upset??

I responded to your other post as well.  This little girl is 8 years old, correct?  To be raped at such a tender age is just heart breaking.  (well, ay age is horrific).  I agree that a therapist would be very very beneficial.  good luck

Emotional instability is a huge sign that not everything is okay.  I agree with your instincts.

She was going to a counselor but they felt she was ok from everything that happened with the rape but I have been tossin the idea of takin her back around because she seems to be emotionally unstable

I think that this issue might be best handled with a mental health therapist.  Your step daughter should already be receiving counseling if she was raped.  It is obvious that your step daughter is coping with separation/loss issues for which a counselor would be the best way to go.
