Hi i have a really bid problem with my 11 year old daughter it started about 3 years ago with blinking a lot, know she pulls faces with her eyes and makes streching movement with her neck its getting really embarrasing.She a popular girl with her sport these habits are getting me down as they gone on for so long thinking she grow out of them.Im making a appointment this week with doctor as its stressing me out keeping on to my daughter to stop as shes going to comprehensive school in sept. thanks Donna x

These symptoms are examples of tics, or involunatary muscle movements. Please don't think of them as habits or as behaviors that your daughter is choosing to do. They are a neurological condition, and her primary care doctor should refer her to a pediatric neurologist.
