Developmentally how far along should my daughter be?

My daughter will be 4 in June. She is an only child. And she has never been in any preschool or anything. She can say her alphabet and count to 20, but she does not want to learn them by sight. When I try and teach her (and I make it fun for her) she gets frustrated and then stops trying to learn. So I wait a couple of days and then go back to teach her again and the same thing happens again. I'm not sure if she is developing as she should or not because some kids who are a year younger are already advancing past her. I know all children develop at a different level, but I just don't want her to fall behind. Can you please help?

4 is too young.  She will learn all her alpahbet and counting to 20 during the first 3 months of K when she starts elementary school.  If she does not want to learn yet, let her be.  She has plenty of time to learn and she will. Let her play and have fun.

She is doing fine. I always remind parents to not get too caught up in teaching - let pre-school teachers do that. Nothing that you describe indicates a problem.
