Does my son have asbergers?

My son will be 8 in March and for the past 9 months his behaviour and attitude has becoming alot more difficult. His teacher send me a letter home highlighting a few issues they had with him in school. unable to keep eye contact. finds it hard to play or participate in a group, if there is dirt on a page he will not use it, gets very emotional and often cries hard very easily. If standing in the cue for dinner he often leaps about instead of standing.. At home he is pretty much the same. He leaps off chairs for no reason, makes weird faces when talking to you. Often gets into fights with his little sister.  He has a very good long term memory, he can tell you things that happened years ago. He has problems with the toilet also in he cant grasp how to clean himself. He is a very loving and very polite child but has a temper. And finds it hard to fall asleep at night sometimes complaining of nightmare and hearing wee men in his head.. But he is always talkin about people dying and leaving him. my mum brought  him to put flowers on a grave and because he noticed someone had died the day he was born he blamed himself for that person dying and said he was the devil and it was his fault.. he cried for hours over that... im sorry this is so long but can u please help me

Tracy,  from your description it certainly sounds like it's worth getting him evaluated.  He does seem to have real strengths, though.

I'm curious about how at 8 years old,  he is suddenly displaying these difficulties - or is it just that this one teacher has brought his continuous behavior to your attention,  where earlier teachers didn't communicate this.
