I have a seven year old daughter, and with all the information that I have read about dyslexia, I think she may have it. However, her teacher believes I may be jumping to conclusions. She just thinks she may be slower at developing her skills for reading and writing, but when I see my daughter struggle so hard to the point that she is in tears, I personally think she cannot read what is front of her because she does not see the information the way that I do. Her 7 is backwards, as well as the confusion of the d and b, she also confuses the numbers 9, 6, makes up or skips complete words, etc. Could you please advise me on what steps I should take or am I wrong in assuming this could be her problem. I really want to help her because it is painful to watch her struggle and have people labeling her as "slow". She really loves to be read to and I know would love to read things herself.
Thanks,
