Febrile Convulsions

My eldest of twin boys Michael (2.5 yrs old) has had about 6 convulsions now and numerous near misses, we have got the art of keeping the temperature down ourselves to near perfection, although now and again the fever is so severe we struggle to get it to come down and feel the need for some sort of medication to help, we have paracetamol which he has continually through it (10ml every 6 hrs) if this is not enough which usualy isn't we give Nurofen which contains (ibufropen) to bring it down (3 times a day) but sometimes all together still doesn't help and the tepid showers / fan / and continual sponging still does not work, by which time he is usually fitting or near fitting at this point.
My wife and I would like to know if there is a drug or medication a step up from the Nurofen that we could give him to bring the temperature down, as the only other thing we have for him is Diazapan which is not for the fever but for the convulsions,                                                                I look forward to hearing from you,  Dougie and Heidi Macfarlane,   ( and a warm Michael!!!)

My daughter has had febrile convulsions. She was put on some type of valium , this was a few years ago, i think it was called diazepam. Ask your docotr about it. i got a few refills and when she spiked a fever i gave that to her. it worked. she had a total of 3 and now she is 6 and doing good. my email ***@****
