Feces Smearing

by Zion, Jan 26, 2005 12:00AM
Hello, My SOn's Father and I seperated when my Son was 8mths old, my Son started Feces smearing when he was about 2, continuing untill his Father and I reunited at the age of 2yrs8mths, he stopped while his Father was around, then we seperated again after 7mths. A few months on and I have met someone new, after a few weeks the feces smearing has started again.  My new partner is a loving and stable person but we are obviously having problems adapting, can you please give me an Idea as to how to deal with this with a very intelligent nearly four year old boy?

Thank you for your time!

This is a sign of serious emotional disturbance, likely related to the instability of the early years. You should not try to handle this by yourself. Instead, seek asap evaluation with a clinical psychologist or other mental health professional.
