Hi, i am having the same problem with my 6 year old boy, so your not alone on this one, i have tried a few things really but they have not worked for me maybe you could try them, i done up a chart and every night he would go to bed on his own he would get a star on the chart sheet and for the whole week if the chart is filled with stars he would get a suprise at the end of the week, another girl suggested to me to leave the radio on in his room so i iwll try that one tonight for him hopefully that will work for me, what time do you put your son to bed at night? maybe your putting him to bed to early?? i found as well that my son was never tired at bedtime so i cut out most of his sweet eating and i give him winders now or cereal bars,  you could also change your routine towards bedtime do something different like play a game maybe hide and go seek remind him through out the game playing how long more it is to bed time, then have something to eat and give him a shower, that way it does start to wind him down before bedtime,  please let me know how you get on...

If he acts differently with everyone else, there is a possiblity you aren't being consistant enough with him.  Which doesn't mean your a bad mom, because moms are just that way, all a child has to do is bat their eyes, and the mother goes to puddy.  You must be firm with him.
If he sleeps in your bed, then you need to put a blanket and pillow beside your bed and everynight move it a little bit more from your room toward his room, then at the end you put it in his bed.

each and every time he gets up from his bed and crawls into your bed, you must get up no matter how tired you are, but get up and take him back to your bed, even if he crys and continues to do it 5 times per night.  it works, it really really works, but you must get up when he arrives or tries to crawl in bed w/ you.   My son did then continous, he would start in his room, but soon get up and come over to our room, i would automatically, even though it killed me cause i was in a deep sleep already, but i would get up hold his hand, and tell him he can't come over until it gets light.  this went on for 1 week, if that, and no more problems, he stays in his room.   Give him a night light and his favorite stuffed animal, and hopefully what helped me, helps you too... .good luck:)
