HELP!! Should I be Alarmed

I am a mother of a 4 yr old girl, my fiance just moved in with his 3 children (G-7, B-5, B-4). He has a son that is 4 and we found them with their pants down showing / looking at private parts. We were very stern about that it is not ok to be naked in the same room with boys / girls. We were both horrified and at a loss as to what to say. My daughter said that his son said to pull down their pants and that she did not want to. We asked why she did not come tell us she said she did not know. They both appeared to "know" it was not right because we stress about bath time, no boys in the bathroom while girls are in there and visa versa. Should we be concerned that they will continue to sneak around and show parts? I am just sick about it. Is this normal for them to show eachother?

This sort of behavior should not be regarded as abnormal, though of course it invites strict limit setting in order to educate the children about what is and is not permitted. So continue to set such limits and educate the children; you might want to employ any number of children's books, available at local libraries, that address this issue.

THANK you!! I believe we probably over reacted! I am going out to get books this weekend so we can discuss these things in a more one on one manner.
