I can remember when I was that age and I hated it when I was told to go outside. Have you tried having your husband take him out and play football or baseball with him. Signing him up for sports or other activities, summerSummers eve anti-itch camp, things to get him out of the house and doing things that are active.
wait a minute ladies----that's just it - your child doesn't need to be entertained- that is how he got the way he is now and I think you sense this- but that is the way society is now- we ALL want to be entertained- is he inside playing video games, watching tv, or playing computer?
He can explore- ride his bike, make up games.... these are the children that develop real imaginations and higher IQ's- just get him started with a boy that does outside exploring but one that you can trust to have common sense.... you know, your Tom Sawyer type :-/
