  Sorry,
I meant to say, I would NOT worry about it to much this year.  But next year, its something that he does need to be involved in.

When he is not doing his homework in class, is it because there is something else he would rather be doing?
He does need to learn how to work in a group.  Unless he has some condition that makes it very hard for him to work with people (like autism), this is an important skill.  There should be ways to set up the group work to make it easier for him.  With kids of his age, there really are a bunch of factors involved - friends in the group, girls in the group, bossy kids, etc.  I would worry about it too much this year, but next year.  Its something he needs to be involved in.
Hard to say about the pants pooping.  Some kids just don't like to go to the bathroom at school.  Some times what he ate for lunch can be a problem (apples for example).  Why its happening at home, I don't know - unless he comes home and is just so glad to be home and doing whatever it is he does, that he forgets?  Hope some of this helps.
