How to handle unwanted hugging & aggressive kids at school

by nicole9206, Oct 28, 2009 12:18PM
How should my son handle an agressive child at his school, a 9 yr old, who he says is annoying and tries to hug him all the time? The child also gets very angry and acts out by kicking, etc, when rebuffed.

Two things might be useful. First, he (and you) should call the situation to the attention of personnel at the school, so they can intervene. Second, he should be direct in asking the child to stop. He can say: "Please do not touch me; I don't like it." If the child persists, please ask for help from the staff/administration of the school.
