In shock..need advise

A friend of mine called me and said her 7 yr old son and my 8 yr old son was caught laying on top of each the 7 year old was moving his hips around. When asked were they learned this from the 7 yr old boy said from tv and the 8 yr old said he was asked by the 7 yr old to lay on him and he did not know what they were doing.  Both set of parents have come together and talk to both children at the same time and explained this type of behavior is not appropriate behavior. How would you handle this situation? and it this something we should be concern with?

This is so bizzare my sisters boy who is 7 done exactly the same thing with a friends neighbour 2 nights ago,we called them into the roomand explained that what they were doing was wrong and not to be done again they both got upset and were pretty embarrassed,i think the best way is to just explain that they are not to be touched by anyone as it is against the law and vice versa, all children experiment,it just needs to be explained calmly i think.

I thinking talking to them about it was a good choice. I'd say I would explain it to them MORE then once so they REALLY understand. As far as being concerned with it, PROBABLY not. I think a lot of kids go through weird things like that. Especially because of what they let on regular TV these days. People practically naked, sex scenes, gay people kissing, you pretty much see it all these days. I'd say maybe just watch his behavior for a while.

Its pretty normal behavior actually. Even if they hadnt see it on tv, for a boy honestly it just come natural. Just keep a closer eye on them. I wouldn't worry too much.

yngdad's hit it. And if you tell boys not to do something they'll just hide it better. I can't be the only one that remembers being a child!

I'd have a talk with them if they were my boys.  At that age, parents are not yet the enemy (sorry statmaster you had that relationship with your parent)-------- most kids are not so driven by such things that they don't listen to their parents about what they should and should not do.  Most kids at that age still believe that mom might catch them and if she said not to, they better not.  If you feel as a parent that you can not guide your children as to appropriate behavior, what are parents for?  I have to be more than the chef of the house.  I'm also their teacher and role model.  So any parent should feel that they can intercept behavior that is undesirable with their kids (and humping your bro falls in that category) and guide them through making better choices.  good luck
