Information

My son has ben diagnosed this year with ADHD,OOD and Torettes syndrome, they can have more co-morbid disabilities. My son was only 6 when he started with ticks, and my GP told me that it was probably a habbit, but when the ticks got worst she referred him to CAMS, i saw a child psychiatrist who diagnosed him with the torettes. When your child dose the ticks egnor them, dont tell him to stop , because it makes them worst, plus he cant stop them. When he hits himself reassure him that its okay. plenty of other children has Torettes. We suffered since my child was at pre-school age, schools were concerned about his behavior and he had a test for ADHD, which they said he didn't have obviously they were wrong, he has been diagnosed with all three this year, you need to go back to you doctor and tell him that you want to be refereed to a child psychiatrist. If you know there is something wrong with your child keep pushing it thats what i have been told. Get schools involved. hope this information has helped. Debbie
