My daughter is 9 years old and I am concerned that she may be depressed. She breaks down and cries at least once a day now. When I ask her about it, she says she doesn't know why she is cryingColic and crying Crying in infancy. This has been going on for awhile but seem to be happening more often now. She says that she just starts feeling sadDepression and starts cryingColic and crying Crying in infancy. She also get frustrated with things easily now. Should I be concerned?
There is something going on with your daughter whether it be depression or something has happened and she is having trouble telling someone. Children can experience true depression so I wouldn't rule it out. I would start with therapy. A good therapist can help her learn how to deal with her feeling and also teach her how to express herself. You can be the best Mom in the world and your child can still need outside help. Hang in there.
Is your daughter suffering from depression? Only a medical health professional can diagnose that issue. I think that is the first place to start - at the doctor's office. If depression is the issue, then treat it. If it is some other issue, then find out what the problem is and try to deal with it. But first, you need to determine the "problem".
Another thought perhaps she is pre hormonal it is not unusual for girls of this age to reach puberty and that could also cause symptoms of depression and emotional issues
