Is my child autistic?

by Sabahuss, Sep 20, 2009 01:07PM
I have twins boys who are two and a half now, first twin is absolutely talkative and normal, however the second twin doesn't seem to talk much. Initially he didn't respond to his name and we got his hearing checked, all tests were normal. However he doesn\t show any inetrest in watching TV, he is very outgoing, very social, smiling all the time, he doesn't mind sleeping with anyone in any room any bed. what worries me that he doesn't speak doesn't play with the other twin and with other kids, he likes to play with adults. He cover his ears with his hands if I scold him or if he gets scared. He is a bit demanding too, he pulls my hand to take him out for groceries or open the fridge for him etc. He has very little vocab. but he talks some words on the phone to imaginery friends. Is he autistic? He had breathing problems at work. Pls reply asap. Many thanks saba

No, there is no indication in the information you provided that he is autistic. He may simply be a bit delayed in his speech/language. It would be prudent to have him evaluated by a Speech/Language pathologist.
