Is this safe?

My husband recently refinished an old vanity of ours to make into a changing table.  He is very proud of all the work he did one it.  However, the vanity has a large mirror attached to it, and if we put our child on the vanity to be changed, I am worried that he might have a toy or something in his hand and break the mirror.  The mirror can come off, but my husband thinks that it is fine.  Am I just overreacting or is the mirror a safety issue??

When the safety of a child is at hand, there's a simple rule of thumb in my opinion: Better safe than sorry. If I were speaking with your husband, I'd ask him what is the point of running the risk. You don't want to have an accident and then wonder: "If only we hadn't ......" The mirror can always be reattached later, when you no longer need the table for changing purposes.
