My grandson is 2yrs old. Has not yet said a word. Tried to teach him mama and more and dada. If he wants something like a raisen and you tell him to say more he walks away to another room and crys. I've read all the symptoms of autismAutism Autism - resources and feel this is not his problem. Yes you should be concerned-- not using any spoken language by 2 is a delay that warrants investigation by a medical professional. It can be a symptom of many things-- including just a plain old speechHearing or speech impairment - resources Speech disorders delay that has no other consequences.
But to find out, you should contact his pediatrician for either a thorough evaluation of the situation and/or a referral to a developmental specialist.
