Just don't want to eat healthy food!!!

Please help me with my 10 year old son's terrible appetite?  He always seems to win the battle of eating the healthy meal on his plate and I feel like the monster for persisting in my battle to get him to eat vegetables and "normal" food!  Naturally he loves pizza, chicken nuggetts, etc, but I just make sure that we do not have any snacks or junkfood in the house.  He does not particularly like sweets or sweet things.....he is very slim and muscular, excells in sport, very active and sleeps well.......but meal times are a nightmare every night!!  He has NEVER even tasted stuff like pumpkin, green veggies, mushrooms, carrots, lettuce, etc.  Once in a blue moon he might eat potatoes and rice.  Most meats are pushed to the side and trying to make it 'child-friendly" has not brought me any results.

Does he like beans  a lot of children actually love baked beans and they are a great source of fibre and there are less salt ones out thelre,,also peas, I wonder if it would be a good idea to give him one of those healthy cook books to read or show him rut Heathy cooking Forum I know our CL there Peekawho would be delighted to get him some tasty recipes to try and maybe you could help him cook them, does he eat fruit as that would also be a way of getting more Vitamins into him,melon, blueberries, Bananas, apples, He sounds like a pretty healthy guy from your description, so you are simply a concerned Mom,I didnt like veg much even through the teen years I love them now.....
