Not long ago i posted a question to you regarding my 7 year old son Anthony ,suffers from downs syndrome and has many
autisticAutistic behavior type tendancies as well as severe behavor problems . When Anthony was 7 months old he contracted meningitis and was hospitalised for a period of 3 months . At the time he was so very ill and not expected to live , fortunatly he survived and came home with me , but now 6 years later my doctors (and we have many )all agree that Anthony suffered significant brain damage , my question is what is the aftermath of such an illness ,can we know how badly he may have been affected and what are the
commonCommon cold problems relating to meningitis years later . Is there any chance that he may contract this awful illness again (Anthony was immunised for this illness at birth).
He also contracted enchpalitis at 6 years old after having the chicken pox ,can he be suseptable to any type of long term damage or other illnes from this infection . I know these are not easy questions to answer and nor to i expect any diognosis but i have many doctors who can not be bothered in answering my concerns about Anthony , so any information i can get can help me look out for other treatments or just gearing me with the knowleage that can certainly help answer some of the problems my son hads
