My 3 year old is out of control

don't know what to do my 3 year old is out of control she is not listning, time out is not working. She is mean to other children, and is always getting in trouble at preschool for not listning. she spit on a teacher the other day... I have tried telling her to use her words and not to hit other kids. We do time outs I have tried emphasizing the good things she does while correcting the things that she should'nt I am at a loss I dont know what to do! I don't know where she is learning this bad behavor we have a happy family no one ever hits each other or spits on each other.. please help

It's important that you adopt a systematic method of managing the behavior - that is, that you respond in exactly the same manner each time the behavior occurs. It sounds like you are doing a good job. For some additional guidance, consult Lynn Clark's book SOS Help for Parents (see sosprograns.com).
