My 4 year old keeps acting out

My son is 4 and a half and hes been in school for 1.5 years now. Since then his teachers know he gets bored easy, he doesnt sit still at all, and by the end of the last school year they brought in an extra teacher for my son and another little boy so when they get real antsy in the middle of a group she would take them to the side to do a puzzle or something.

Now for the past 2 weeks my sons teachers basically dont know what to do with him. Everyday theyre telling me hes knocking over toys, refusing to clean, not listening. Its gotton to the point i picked him up from school today and hes at the computer while everyone else was doing something and the teachers said he didnt want to come so they just left him. So now its not just being over active, hes not listening either. I feel like the teachers are giving up on him.. its that bad.

My whole family knows this about Caden. He doesn't listen to my mom, she always gives in, and sometimes he even tests me.. but i think hes the best with me. Not perfect...but definitally better than with his teachers or my parents

I'm not sure what to do or who to talk to .. my mother is telling me to let someonee talk to him to see why hes so out of hand. If you look at him with other children.. theyre so calm. My son is neverr still. EVER. I don't mind it but if he'd listen it would be easier. i don't know anymore. Any ideas? Would be greatly appreciated.

It will not make any difference if someone (e.g., a professional) talks with him. However, you should have him evaluated because of the distinct possibility of a hyperactivity syndrome typical of ADHD. In addition, there should be in place a systematic program of behavior management. I suggest Lynn Clark's approach in SOS Help for Parents. But if it is going to be useful, all the adults who deal with his behavior have to be on the same page. Much of this problem is created by the adults because you are not dealing with him in a consistent, uniform fashion.
