My 5 year old is missing 2q13 chromsome n also has many discpline issues n also picks her scabs which the genetic guy told me its obsessive compulsive disorder but im puzzled of how to stop this as i have bought the product new skin n ive bought band aids w medication on them ive also put band aids w anti itch im just running out of ideas of what to do w my 5 year old. she gets worse when it comes to her dads wknd nowing that she has to go to his house every other wknd she really starts acting up n picking im totally puzzled n lost.

If you are seeing a rise in distress associated with the visitation arrangement, it invites re-consideration (or at least evaluation) of that arrangement. Apart from that, the behavior of picking at herself is a challenge to stop. If the behavior is indeed a manifestation of OCD, and it might be, medication is one option (and, in fact, the most viable option). But she is young and obviously a very conservative approach should be taken re: pharmacological treatment. What should you do? Arrange an evaluation with a child psychiatrist.
