My 6 1/2 yr old

My son(6 1/2yrs old) spent the night at his cousins house. woke up in the middle of the night grabbed the hamster out of his cage put him in the bathroom sink"to let him swim"(my sons words) while he washed his face. then after a while he held the hamster in the water and he drowned. He said it was an accident. Is there big concern? My son does live with his grandmother and there has been some trauma with my son between 2yrs old and up till he was 5. His father and I got into some trouble and had a horrible break up and we were in and out of my sons life for those few yrs. We are really concerned That it is harming him now. His father sees him 1-2 a week and his grandmother(my husbands mother) wont let me see him at all. I really feel this is affecting him. My life is great now and has been for the past 2yrs. but she still wont let me in his life. What do I do??????

keep doing the right thing before you know it he will want you in his life...i lived this be patient and pray extra god always hears...be ready for him send him mail all hlidays you will wear on grandma in a good way,  you cant send him too many things a few foolproof ways ttyl
