My 6 yr old and urinary issues

My 6 yr old daughter still wears pullups to bed. I've tried letting her go without it, but she wet the bed every night so we went back to it. Here lately, though. she has started wetting herself during the day, sayins she didnt get to the bathroom in time, but it doesent seem to be a big issue to her. She has always had severe meltdowns over anything. What may cause her to just start wetting herself?

Since she's just recently started wetting herself during the day,  this is probably behavioral.  For some reason she no longer cares all that much if she pees on herself.   If you've had her checked for a UTI,  you can be pretty sure she just has decided it's not all that important to use the toilet.    It won't be long before other kids start to make fun of her if she's doing this at school and maybe that will help her - otherwise,  returning to the routine of forcing her to go to the potty every so often the way you do preschoolers would probably help.

The night time wetting is probably different - she really can't help that.  We had to "walk" my oldest son every single night - around 1 a.m. - to the bathroom until he was about 7 or he'd likely have an accident.  Deep sleep,  or something.

Best wishes.

you may want to consider seeing a Chiropractor.  I have heard that it helps with these issues.  At the least I would address it with your daughter's pediatrician.

your daughter has a weak bladder. it is nothing to worry about. i have suffered with a weak bladder from the day i was born. i didnt come out of pullups till the age of twelve. ask your doctor about amatriptyline. it helps kids to stop wetting the bed. your daughters bladder could become stronger over time. as she is also wetting herself during the day when you go out somewhere take a bag of clothes with you. she should also take a bag of clothes to school incase she needs to change. inform her teachers about this as she will need to go at any time of day. also there are now bedwetting sheets for your child. good luck
