My 9 year old boy started spitting a LOT

My 9 year old boy just recently started spitting a lot. At first I thought he was just developing a habit but after havin him by my side while shopping I noticed his mouth was actually filling with saliva and he really has a lot to spit out. Why would this be happening?

Maybe he isnt swallowing properly you could ask your Doctor if it continues, spitting very often is a habit that is learned, maybe school friends or relations with a similar habit. if it isnt a pysical problem, has he had a sore throat and been unable to sawllow, maybe he doesnt like to swallow his "spit" have you asked him why and what he is feeling.
