My Daughter Keeps Wetting Herself

My Daughter Keeps Wetting Herself

My Daughter is 6 years old. Recently she has started wetting herself. At school and home but not at night. Ive taken her to the doctors they say nothing is wrong with her when it clearly is! The other day she had a friend round and they were both coloring at the table. When my daughter got up, her chair was wet so i went to find her and i asked her if she had wet herself she said no. her trousers were wet too so i helped her get changed and i hoped it was a one off accident. The next Monday she was back at school and when i came too collect her from school she was wearing spare clothes. Her teacher told me she had been playing in the sand box and forgot to go to the bathroom. When we got home i told her she needs to stop wetting herself and use the bathroom like a big girl. We finally had a dry school day the next day, but when she got home she was sat on the sofa watching watching a film.. i smelt urine so i picked her up and just as i guessed she had wet herself AGAIN!  i carried her too her bedroom and asked her why she didn't go to the bathroom she said she couldn't hold it ! I really don't know what too do i shall take her back to the doctors on Wednesday but has anyone got any ideas?

it doesn't sound like a medical probelm like an infection so your daughter probably just forgets or can't be bothered to go because she's bussy playing or watching tv etc. my son sometimes reverts back to this stage. whenever she wets herself make her change her own clothes, put them in the wash and also help you clean up the puddle/mess she made. she will soon realise its alot easier just going to the loo! she will also realise the consiquence of her actions. good luck!

Yes, I would rule out a medical issue, like UTI. Also, make her sit on waterproof pads on teh sofa just in case she urinates, it might also make her pay more attn.  I know it is aggravating!  maybe put extra clothes in backpack too until it calms down.  Let's hope it is a SHORT phase!

My daughter had an accident at school weeting herself she was 9 then and it only happened 1 time, she was quite embarrassed. She said it was because she waited too long to use the bathroom. This year just last week it happened again she wet herself and this morning she wet the bed. What would cause a 10 year old to start this. Potty training was never an issue she was potty trained at age 2 1/2. She hasnt been abused but she did inform me she has been experiencing biullying at her school. Please Help!
