My Son doesn't like to go to daycare

by RihamYoussif, Jun 23, 2009 06:15PM
Hi

My son is 3 years and half and he is the only son that i have, i just moved from my country to canada from 10 months ago and my first language is neither english or french. Actually the problem is that my son doeasn't like to go to his daycare AT ALL .

i registred him in a family day care from 6 months, through these 6 months he didn't go there for even 20 days!! he keeps crying and screaming all the day and refuses to go play with other children so he made it difficult for me to take him there emotionaly. However, when iam there to take him he is so happy and want to play with other children AS LONG AS iam or his father with him.

I decided at last to make him go every day and i did so for a week, his crying was somehow less everyday but he refuses to set with other children he sits a lone, sometimes i found small injurries on his face and his ears and when i ask the day care provider she says she don't know. The end was when she called me telling me that he felt on stairs and his face hit the safty gate, there was a big truma in his face i told her that i dont want to bring him back and i ended my registeration with her.

i tried a lot to let him speak if there is anybody who is hurting him but he didn't reply.

I dont know what to do . i want to register him for another day care but at this time i want to register him in a day care centre not family day care and iam afraid because i think he has separation anxiety. he is so attached to me and his father and in fact we did everything he wants. untill now he still sleeps with us. Also he doesnt eat well just small amounts of food and after we try so hard to make him eat.

I hope that u could help me to how to deal with taking him to day care again.

It will take some time for him to adjust to a setting, but he will over time. You will have to endure the discomfort of his crying, but he will adapt. Be sure to investigate the reputation of a program you consider and ask questions about the certification/ licensing that the program possesses.
