My Son has not Started Walking yet

Hello,
My son is 1 year 7 month and he has not started walking and speaking yet. He is very active and crawls very fast on his hip using one hand. Few months back we took him to hospital and Dr said he is having symptoms of Rickets and prescribed calcium and Iron for him. However, even after 4 month of giving him calcium and Iron his condition seems pretty much same. He has started speaking few words by copying his elder sister and can stand on his knees with legs crossed, he always want to keep his legs crossed even while sitting. Whenever we try to make him stand, he starts crying after some time as if he is having pain somewhere.
Could you please suggest what should we do?

Why haven't you taken him back to the doctor that saw him at the hospital?  They try their best to fix the immediate problem but tell you to seek your doctor's advice if the symptoms progress.  Have you spoken to his pediatrician?  

I am no expert and can't offer any other advice but so many parents come here instead of going straight to their doctors.

Rickets is usually treated with Vitamin D and calcium.  Was Vitamin D a part of his treatment?

I agree with Rilbrianne.  These are very serious symptoms,  and language delay isn't usually associated with Rickets.  

He needs a lot more medical help than he's getting - these are real concerns you have.
