My childrens behavior

I have three children ages 11-9-7 my eleven year old has no problems really but my 9 year old throws fits for nothing and cusses all the time and now my 7 year old calls me names and cusses and throws big fits to.They don't listen to anything i say to them its like i'm not here.Any suggestions?

Consequences for all of their actions! Don't get them any of their precious DS's or cellphones or anything they want just because. These things have to earned. They need to respect you and need to be punished for their bad actions. Consistency from you is the biggest part of it. Do they have a father in the home? How does he treat you? If they have somebody who is calling them out on everything they do wrong and not letting them get away with it, then this behavior should subside. How much time do you spend with them to have fun or to talk or to do anything together? Kids crave attention and do anything possible to get that attention whether it is good or bad. It sounds like you have to change your strategies on how you're raising them and make them responsible for their actions. I don't want to sound like I'm being hard on you but these children are treating you like this because they want your specific attention when there is time outside of school and stuff. Maybe making a family night woulds help where you and the kids could do anything or play games or do some cooking or baking or something. This is one thing that may help them to calm down and this gives them something to look forward to on maybe a Saturday or Friday night. If you choose to, maybe do something different every week.Have you ever tried counseling? This sometimes helps as well. I hope this helps you in your problems with your children. Good luck.
