My one year old son and his hair habit

I have a little boy who is one year old he has a severe problem with hair he has to have my hair to go to sleep he plays with it licks it he will even pull it out of my pony tail to get to it he gets mad at his dad because he had no hair to pull he will likc the carpet and pull out the hair and he eats hair out of the hair brush he has done this since he was just a few months old what should i do it is getting to the point that i have to spank him and i dont know what to do

Go to your doctor.  It could be lead poisoning.  Children eat odd things when a they have excessive lead.  Sometimes things like paint chips, too.  Check it out.

My son was a hair freak too when he was that age. He did not go looking for it in carpet of a hair brush, but he would try to get it into his mouth when he could.
We said no for about 2 months-- just did not let him have it-- and then it stopped.
