My son makes all kinds of noises in school.

My son is 6 years old. Last night I had a parent-teacher conference and was told that academically he is doing very well but the teacher has a hard time stopping him from making noises. He wants the other kid's attention and would do anything to get it. He is making faces, funny noises or sometimes pushing or grabbing kids to get their attention.
She was telling us that he might not be able to control his behavior.
He doesn't seam to have any control issues at home. He is just a very energetic and smart child.
The teacher suggested to have him tested but I am afraid of a misdiagnosis.
What should we do?
