My son's frustration turns to anger

My 5 year old son has been having trouble with getting angry.  He has a set idea in his mind of how things are supposed to turn out and gets very angry when it doesn't go right for him (screams, crumples things, throws things).  I took him to a doctor on Monday and they said he has ADHD and "probably something else".  They started him on Strattera.  I am not sure if this is the right avenue.  When he is not angry he is such a sweet loving little boy.  Does anyone have any suggestions?  I am overwhelmed right now!

I agree with Sarah.  I'd want a second opinion for a five year old and one visit being diagnosed like that.  And the"probably" something else would concern me too.  Good luck.

I would get a second opinion. Im always iffy about those kind of diagnoses because it seems like autism and adhd are always so over diagnosed.
