My teenage son is very defiant

My teenage son will not mind what I tell him. He speaks to me as if I were one of his peers. Using arrogant,argumentative, posturing. His comments are very sarcastic. I have tried using a behavior modification based on redirecting, rewarding, and replacing behvavior.
What else could I do?
