Nausea after activity

by coyotegirlpbb, Feb 23, 2008 08:59PM
Hi there,

I am not exactly sure where to ask this question so hopefully it can be directed to the right person.  My son  is 9 years old.  Lately after periods of high activity levels and not eating much he has been getting stomach pains and sometimes vomiting.  He also gets pale to the point of being green.  Is it possible that he has low blood pressure or hypoglycemia?

When you say "pale to the point of being green" - are you actually describing a blue tint?

I would be concerned about a blood oxygen level and circulation problems - I think this deserves a doctor visit.

Best wishes.

It is almost a blue colour.  It gets very freaky because he can't explain what is happening and it is almost like he is in another world.  I just took him for a whole wack of blood tests a few months ago as he was getting headaches all the time and getting sick every time we went in the car.  Everything came back as normal.  Is it really possible that something new could develop that quickly?

coyote - I don't know that a circulation problem would show up in a blood screen,  would it?  I mean,  if he was blue right then when they took the blood sample,  it would show low blood oxygen content,  but otherwise I don't think it would show up - it sounds to me like it's possible he has either a heart or lung problem that's very intermittent.

I think I would call and ask the doc for a referral to a cardiologist -

Best wishes.
