Need an Advice

Hello,

My son is handsome, active and intelligent. He loves to solve puzzles. He solves any kind of Shape puzzles very quickly. Operates i pad on his own. We introduced i pad to him at the age of 6 months. since then, he might be thinking that every thing works on touch. If he wants water, he just grab my hand and take me to the water bottle or he himself goes there to drink the water. I told him many times he has to say water but he never implements. He imitates Disney movies a lot. while watching movie he acts like them and babbles a lot. Recently he learned alphabets and numbers. But, he only repeats them when ever he wants or when ever he see some numbers or alphabets. If we ask him to say ABC he simply ignores and go on with his activities. If we call him by his name he would not respond most of the times. When we sing his favorite rhyme he would come to us with a smiling face and observes our lip movement even though we sing it very low voice.

If we call him from other room or from long distance he comes to us instantly.  He follows some instructions and ignores lot more. I always tell him what i am doing, talk to him every time and teach him some words.

He learned few new words but the problem is he only repeat it for ones or twice. He never bother to say that word again n again.

We are about to enroll him into play school. Even though i feel like he is OK But some times i worried a lot. I just need your opinion and please let me know any one experienced these kind of situation. We don't want to take him to the doctors unnecessarily and irritate him for no reason.

This is exactly what you should do!  Take your son to the pediatrician and discuss these concerns with him/her.  These issues may be nothing and they may be something.  It is impossible to tell unless you have him evaluated.  If it is something, like a developmental issues, it is best to have this issue treated now while your son is young.  The older he gets, the more permanent the symptoms will become.
