Noise sensitivity

by friki, Oct 28, 2008 08:16PM
My 3/12 yr old just started a PreK3 program at a local school.  He has been having noise sensitivity for about 6 months.  The fire drill at school seems to be the biggest point of contention.  He is constantly telling us about fire drills and everytime he sees a fire extinguisher or fire alarm he makes sure to point it out.  Whenever anything gets a little loud, he covers his ears and cries.  Crowd noise seems to be a major concern.  In addition to this noise sensitivity he has become increasingly agitated by small things.  Is this due to a change from day care to school or is it something more than that?

You might want to have him check for sensory integration dysfunction.
