ODD behavior

by hyltonmommy25, Apr 26, 2007 12:00AM
Our son is 3 and the doctor thinks that he has ODD.  It is really worrying us.  He hasn't always been like this.  He is out of control with his behavior. He is very violent to everyone it doesn't matter who is around.  They made him an appointment with the Psychiatrist and its not for another month.  I dont knwo how to help control his anger and violence.  He really is a very lovng and sweet boy and I want that little boy back. They put him on medication and it doesn't seem to affect him that much. His new thing is going to the bathroom on himself and he thinks that is funny and ok to do it.  When you tell him its not right he will look at you and laugh.  Counting and timeouts do not work for him.  He also has a speech delay.  He got kicked out of daycare the other day.  I just want my sweet boy back.

Are you saying he's had a complete change of behavior very recently?  How long has he been like this?  Do you have the same pediatrician you've always had,  and this doctor has seen him as a normal sweet calm child who suddenly,  very recently changed his personality completely?
