Obsessive chewing in children

My daughter seems to have a compulsive chewing problem. From the time she was little we have noticed it. She would bite hair/fur out of toys from the time she had teeth. We also had a dog who would shed alot and I would find tufts of dog fur in my daughter's mouth after she started crawling.  She is now 4 1/2 years old and it has gotten worse. She bites holes in her clothes, bites yarn out of sweaters, fur off of her stuffed toys and then she doesn't spit it out she just chews on it. She also bites her finger and toe nails.
I don't know if you need to know this as well but she dwells on things alot. For instance she'll often ask if we have tornados where we live and we tell her no and she keeps asking what tornados are and why we don't have them and what if we did have them. We have had this conversation dozens of times and she knows the answers. We'll ask her to answer the question for us and she will tell us the answer but it's like she can't stop herself from asking all the time. There are a few other topics that she does the same thing with.
I have OCPD, a compulsion to constantly organize things and I just want to know if I she maybe has some form of OCD and if she does how do I help her.

Did anything ever work?  My daughter is 11 almost 12 and still does it.  She prefers soft scilicone based things.  We will go to the store and she will find things to buy just to chew..........
