Dear mommydee,
In the hands of competent medical personnel, the listing of a diagnosis of Conversion Disorder shouldn't pose a problem, though it may elicit some questions. Your daughter may have occasion to explain the circumstances, with particular attention to the medical findings that occurred after the question of Conversion Disorder was broached. There are, undoubtedly, some health care providers who too quickly leap at any mental health or neurobehavioral diagnosis in an attempt to account for physical ailmets, without first eliminating the presence of a medical condition. But, well informed, we patients can be their own best advocates. It is clear that you have educated yourself in some of these areas; hopefully your daughter will "take after you" in this regard.
Good Luck. Dr. KDK
