Picture on Mothers Day Card

My son recently drew this picture on a Mothers Day card for me at Kinder, and I am just wondering what you think of it.

On the left is his daddy, and the right is me, and the purple heart in the middle represents him (that is what he told me). He is 5 years old, and we kept him back a year from school as he was not socially ready at the time.

This is the first drawing he has done that actually resembles something... Most of the time it has been just scribble.

What a cute picture,  Saintsgirl.  I will say it's a real surprise to me that this is the first pic that he's done that resembles something - usually,  kids start out drawing people as circles with appendages coming right off the head - two legs,  two arms,  coming right off the head.

Then they progress to neckless creatures.

Finally,  they progress to classic stick figures,  but usually they have oddities - like enormous fingers and toes.  Or huge eyebrows and eyelashes.

This drawing,  I think,  is really something - and very unusual that he's using the symbolism of a heart and well-done stick figures.

Cool.

Thanks guys. Yeah i am fairly chuffed at this picture.

When I was little I had to go to a child psychologist because I had issues with my mum and dad splitting up, and the only way they found that out was through the pictures I drew while I was there.

I believe that children express a lot through drawings, and this picture just made me realise how happy and loving my little boy is!

The fact that he has both of you smiling is a big thing.  Neat pic.

Possibly a depiction that you both gave birth to him is that what you mean you seem both attached to the heart in the picture...?
