Please Help Suggestions Greatly Apprechiated

My son is 5 years old and is currently staying with a friend of mine and she has a 1 yer old,  Well my son gets upset when he has to do chores and her son don't.  I tryed to explain that when he was that age he didn't have to do chores either.  I beliele that teaches him responsiblity and he did with me and was happy to do them, i aslo rewared him with a special dessert or chioce of dinner or movie.  Now he's staying with my friend and its harder to explain things over the phone were states away from each other!  I know hes confused about the age differance because he don't understand why the 1 year old still wears diapers or can't ride a bike.  The 1 year old is closer to 2 and don't look that little either, he's walking and talking ( not clearly) so to my son he thinks hes around the same age as him.  He thinks hes being punished for something and i want him to understand that its not punishment its responsibility.

Well,  your son is not with you for some reason, right?  That would probably be pretty upsetting to a little guy of 5.  And he is in the home of another family and while they are nice to him I'm sure, he is not their child as the one year old is.   So I think that I would cut this little boy some slack.  Instability in a family like this can cause a lot of emotional problems.  He needs love right now and can learn responsibility when he is in a stable enviroment again.  This is just my opinion but kids need to be kids------  and this little boy sounds like he's had some bad luck in his life.  So, please cut him some slack.  Just my opinion.
