Please Help!!!

My 11 month old son is attached to me in the worst way. I have to be holding him all the time. Even if I'm sitting right next to him, it's not good enough, no one is good enough. He is fine with other people when I am no where is sight or sound. Yes I did create this monster by picking him up whenever he cried and I regret it!! How do I break this?

Your note indicates that you already know the answer to this. Of course he's going to want you to hold him - you've taught him very well. Stop deferring to him each time. Yes, he'll fuss, but it's OK.

my 14month old, now did this at your sons age. i remember wanting to lose my mind, but i am proud to say it was indeed a phase and we have been over it about a month now.  just be patient. don't come running at every cry, but get there when you can and give comfort.  it is a phase.
