Pooping issues.... Can something more be wrong?

About 3 weeks ago my already potty trained 4 1/2 year old starting having accidents.  The first two times it was wetting during nap time.  Then after that it became a pooping issue.  When I asked him after the third time he said cuz he was going to get introuble is why he didnt get up to go potty from his bed.  (He was getting reprimanded for going about 12 times in the first hour of bedtime to avoid going to bed) So I told him if he has to go potty then go and no one will say anything about it. And I made sure that nothing was said to him.  However it is still happening and even worse, when i went in tonight, I smelled poop so I checked his pants.  Some poop marks but no poop so i didnt think anything of it and figured he farted.  That is until I stepped in a poop ball on the floor about 6 ft away from his bed (and he is on top bunk of bunk bed where my other son was not in there at all)  Mind you he had underwear and sleep pants on which means he put it on the floor............. Is this something more than being bad? Is this something I need more help with? And how do I handle this????????????  Please HELP me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
