Precocious puberty in boys

My 8 year old boy is developing pubic hair!!! I am so surprised and rather distressed. Is this something I should be concerned about and consult a Paediatrician?

No it isn't. From a mans point of view. I have 3 sons and a 13 year old bro I raise. Kids start puberty at different ages. My bro started gtting pubic hair around 8 or 9. It can't hurt. If u don't want him starting puberty, talk to the doctor. They have meds to stop a child from growing, but I really wouldn't worry about it.

Hi, yes i'd be consulting a Paediatrician, it is particularly early for puberty to occur at that age. In the mean time, ensure he isn't concerned or freaked out about what's happening to him, and be sure to keep the lines open regarding any questions he may have.

I personally believe it is early to start puberty. While there aren't really many problems with starting that early physically, it's the emotional and social ramifications it may have i.e bullying, low self-esteem etc, that may cause problems. I'd still consider seeing a paediatrician,
