Puberty?

My son just turned 11 and a few weeks ago he started noticing hairs lol, then a few days later he had a knot come up under his nipple, I know these are all signs of puberty (which I am not ready for) but this morning he woke up complaining with his testicles hurting and kept feeling like he was going to throw up. I just brushed it off as part of it but was wondering if anyone can tell me if their kids have had the same thing while going through puberty. Thanks in advance.

Oh yes, good times ahead! :) No, it willl be fine.  What is that they say, boys are hard when they are little but easier when they get older verses girls which are the opposite.  Ha, don't know if that is true------  but as a mom of boys, I  hope so.   Four boys----  wow!  You are a busy lady.  I only have 2 boys---  and they tire me out!

Anyway, good luck

Thanks, he does ok at school as far as having friends he has tons very active in alot of sports, now his biological dad isnt around but I have been married for 6 yrs and my son considers my husband his dad which he is, but for atleast the last yr or so they have gotten to where they butt heads so to speak, he isnt as mouthy with me as him. I had the knot checked out and they told me it was part of the puberty stages so I'm not so much worried about that anymore.  I am not at all looking forward to these next few years LOL, but I have 4 boys so I guess this is only the beginning.

Actually I've looked up knots under nipples and breast swellin in boys of puberty age and it is quite common.  It is usually related to hormones and the ratio of testosterone and estrogen in the body and about 70% of boys get something like this.

I don't know if the testicular pain is part of that or not.

I also agree with adgal that it is always best to be safe and get things checked out. At the very least, call your doctor's office.  Most docs will take calls with questions or concerns and ask you to come in if necessary but sometimes it isn't.  I've had my questions answered over the phone before and you feel better hearing it from your doctor that knows all the right questions to ask you.

good luck----------  HA,  welcome to the fun  years, right?!!  good luck

I think every kid has different things come up during puberty.  However, to me, a knot under his nipple and pain in his testicles, etc. should probably be checked out by a Dr.  Always best to be safe then sorry.
