Question about replies to my previous post????

by Jubalee79, Feb 16, 2007 12:00AM
Okay...So I asked a stepparenting question and I tried to view the reply from another board member, and instead it shows 2 replies about yeast infections????  Not sure why it's showing replies that have nothing to do with my question, and neither of them is from the person it says replied to my question.  So, if you could please read my original post and offer any help I would appreciate it.  Thank you

Hi Jubalee. It must be frustrating to read about yeast infections instead of step parenting...I don`t have any first hand experience in step parenting except that my son spends the occasional weekend at his dad`s house who re-married. His new wife is wonderful and like yourself seems to make a huge effort to integrate my son into the different environment. I know she mainly lets his dad draw the line and does not discipline directly. Both of them have worked on letting my son know that a different house has different rules that are to be obeyed but the dad is the messenger. The best way would be if you can let your step daughter`s dad lay out the law and then you can enforce it whenever it is required. If you discipline first, she may take it the wrong way. Make sure you discuss all areas of concern with her dad first so you can speak unisono. Step parenting takes a very generous soul. I admire anyone who is able to do that!
