Raising a 9 yr old

My now 9 almost 10 yr old boy does not have any friends apart from his class mates in school. He does not like like playing with boys unless with his cousins who are around the same age, or family friends that have kids the same age. He seems to enjoy playing with girls because I think they do not play rough as boys do. He is very quiet and very very shy. I am very concerned about him. I have a 3yr and a 9yr old and they always make friends. Is something wrong with my son?

He sounds fine. He has friends who are classmates, he enjoys his same age boy cousins and he is quiet and likes to play with girls because they are quiet too.
Invite the quiet boys, and the girls over for playtime.
