School behavior not acceptable

I've notice over the past several months that our 7 year old grandson seem to be much more hyper than normal. School just started and his teached is having problems with him staying in his seat. Also, he's showing signs of aggression by hitting and kicking others. He's parents when through a divorce last year. His parents and us have worked very hard to try and keep thing as normal as possible, but something is wrong. He used to be calm and love to read boods, but he can't stay still now to even enjoy a story being read. As his grandmother I am very concerned about his behavor and don't want him to get hehind in school.

Help - we need guidance before it's too late for him in school.

If this is new behavior for him that began with the upheaval of his parents divorce,  it's not ADD.

Can his parents go and talk to the teacher and counselors and explain the situation?  If he was at the school last year,  and his behavior was normal,  they will be very receptive to working with him to get him back on track.

Divorce is so hard on kids,  although many just swallow it and keep it inside.  He's blessed to have a caring grandmother.
