Seizure

by Marion Dutra, Jun 23, 2000 12:00AM
Hellow
Queation on my daughter Christie,18 years old, healthy, last ck up 4 mo. ago. Everything was fine.  Yesterday woke up in the morning, got out of bed,she went down as she reahed the bedroom door, and while she was on the floor, half sitting up started to shake and her eyes shook. Then got up and went back to the bed and sat there just seamed tired.  Now ok!
There has been large stress on her in the last week or so.
Boy friend problems----Graduation------- Parents (me,mom)dad works a lot.   I have noticed she is eating a lot of candy.  Not normal.  Her personality very bossie.  Not really normal.
Just very concerned, because this has not ever happened before.
                Thank you   Marion

Dear Marion,

Did your daughter seek medical attention? If not, please have her follow up with her doctor. Any type of seizure-like behavior should not be overlooked, even if she's feeling fine now. It's possible she experienced a febrile seizure, which are not unheard of in someone her age, even though we often associate them with younger children. Whatever the case, please follow up with the doctor.
